JP Nadda urged parties not to politicise the paper leak issue, hit back at Rahul Gandhi and cited Congress-era incidents.

Union Minister and senior BJP leader JP Nadda on Wednesday appealed against politicising the ongoing paper leak issue, saying students’ concerns should not be used for political gain and should instead be addressed through discussion and corrective measures.
Addressing a press conference, Nadda said students were demanding action over paper leaks and urged political parties not to turn the issue into a political battle.
“Students demand action on the paper leak… I request that we should not politicise the issue. We should not take political mileage from this issue,” he said.
Nadda attacks Rahul Gandhi
Targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Nadda questioned why he had not raised the issue of paper leaks during governments formed by the INDIA alliance. He also reminded Rahul Gandhi of paper leak incidents that took place during the Congress-led UPA government.
Nadda alleged that Rahul Gandhi was not concerned about justice for students or their demands and was instead trying to derive political mileage from the issue.
He said the focus should remain on ensuring justice for students rather than engaging in allegations and counter-allegations. “We don’t want allegations and counter-allegations. We want discussion in Parliament,” he said.
‘Government ready for detailed discussion’
Nadda said the Centre was prepared for a detailed discussion on the issue in Parliament and was willing to devote as much time as the Opposition wanted. “Whatever hours the Opposition wants for discussion, we are ready,” he said.
According to Nadda, the future of students was at stake and the matter deserved serious debate in Parliament. He said all political parties should come together to find a solution instead of indulging in a blame game.
“We should focus on redressal,” he said, adding that the government did not want any injustice to students.
Nadda said students should receive justice and asserted that the government was treating the matter with utmost seriousness.
He also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had taken the issue very seriously and described the Centre as a responsible government.
Calling on the Opposition to act responsibly, Nadda said the discussion should focus on NEET and solutions rather than political confrontation.
Meeting with Sonam Wangchuk
Nadda also said he met activist Sonam Wangchuk in hospital on Tuesday night to enquire about his health. He said he requested Wangchuk to end his fast and also appealed to him to ask the students to end their fast.
According to Nadda, Wangchuk had written a letter to him, and he would respond to it.
The Union minister reiterated that the issue of paper leaks should be resolved through constructive discussion, stressing that Parliament was the appropriate forum to debate the matter and arrive at a solution.
The government will investigate allegations of widespread examination paper leaks and present the truth to the public. Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that paper leaks should not happen again and strict action will be taken against those involved.
