1. VIDEO of brother-in-law being burnt alive, sister-in-law who came to save him also got burnt

A few days ago, a man and his wife were arrested in this land dispute. It is alleged that both of them had sold land in Musa village to Balkaur Singh for Rs 1.87 crore last year, but were refusing to hand over the possession. 5. Heavy rain in Amritsar-Jalandhar, weather will remain bad till July 9

Monsoon is active in Punjab and Chandigarh. According to Chandigarh Meteorological Centre, the weather will remain like this till July 9. Heavy rain, lightning and strong winds may occur in many districts of Punjab. In most of the districts, warnings of strong winds at a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour, thunder and lightning have been issued.

During the last 24 hours, rain was recorded in Chandigarh along with Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Faridkot, Mohali, Patiala and Amritsar. Due to this the temperature has dropped and people have got relief from the humid heat.

Heavy rain lashed Gurdaspur on Friday, leading to breach of Dhusi dam in Baharampur. Its water flooded the fields of village Mughlanichak. However, now the water has started flowing and the situation is becoming normal. This dam was broken in the flood last year, which the department did not repair properly. (Read full news)

A new controversy broke out in the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Saturday. A large number of devotees from different districts of Punjab came here to pay obeisance under the Chief Minister Teerth Yatra Scheme. During this time, the identity cards of the devotees who arrived wearing the photo of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann were removed from their necks.

The servants present in the Golden Temple expressed strong objection to these identity cards. He said that CM Bhagwant Mann has been declared a sect traitor by Shri Akal Takht Sahib, hence one should not enter the Guru Ghar wearing an identity card with his photograph. After this the sevadars removed the identity cards from the necks of the devotees.

At the same time, the devotees participating in the pilgrimage said that these identity cards were given to them under the government system. 7. Firing at petrol pump, 2 youth tried to forcefully open the pump

A ruckus broke out at a petrol pump in Sector-38 West, Chandigarh around 10 pm on Friday night. Two bike riders who had come here to fill petrol had an altercation with the security guard. The situation escalated so much that the security guard had to open fire with his licensed pistol.

Seeing the firing, the youth ran away from there. The security guard says that the petrol pump was closed. Still the youth were pressurizing him to open the pump and pour petrol in the bike. They were abusing, so firing was done to scare them.

As soon as the information was received, Maloya police station reached the spot and started investigating the case. Police have registered a case against two youths. 9. Punjabi youth died in Bulgaria, had gone there a year ago

A young man living in Ajnala, Amritsar died in a road accident in Bulgaria. He had gone abroad about a year ago to improve the financial condition of his family and earn a living. He was working there.

The deceased has been identified as Palwinder Singh. It is being told that on the day of the accident, Palwinder was standing near a bus. During this time, he died in a sudden road accident.

As soon as information about the incident was received, there was mourning in the family. Family members told that Palwinder had gone abroad with the hope of a better future. His body was brought to Ajnala, after which the family cremated him.

10. Insistence on chocolate made father a ‘kidnapper’
