Heavy monsoon rains in many states of the country have now taken the form of disaster and devastation. The torrential rains that have been going on for the last few days in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat and Maharashtra have completely disrupted life. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued ‘Red and Orange Alert’ for many districts of these four states and warned people to stay in safe places.
