Iran said on Wednesday that a part of the $6 billion frozen assets to be released under the US-Iran Agreement (MoU) will be used to buy essential goods. This was agreed upon in a meeting held in Doha, the capital of Qatar. Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said that in the meeting with Qatari officials, it was decided that Iran would buy goods as per its needs. He also alleged that the US did not follow some of the terms of the agreement, including stopping the war in Lebanon. It was also decided in the meeting that a separate committee will be formed by Thursday to monitor the violations of the agreement, where an official complaint of any violation can be filed. Garibabadi clarified that there was no direct meeting between representatives of Iran and America in Doha. Movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz became normal: According to maritime monitoring company Kpler, 34 ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday.
