- The US markets were closed yesterday i.e. on July 4 on the occasion of America’s Independence Day. Earlier on Wednesday, the Dow Jones closed at 39,308, up 23.85 (0.06%) points. The NASDAQ closed at 18,188, up 159.54 (0.88%) points.

At the same time, Nifty also rose by 15 points. It closed at the level of 24,302. Out of the 30 shares of Sensex, 15 saw a rise and 15 saw a fall. IT, banking and power shares saw a greater rise.
