First know why there was a need for NEET re-exam.
Actually, NEET-UG examination was conducted across the country on 3 May 2026. After the examination, allegations of question paper leaking and some candidates getting the paper in advance came to light from many states.
NTA canceled the exam on May 12 after investigation indicated irregularities. After this, based on the review of the Central Government and the investigating agencies, it was decided to conduct the examination again.
NTA’s clarification: No need to download the admit card again.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has clarified that the candidates who have already downloaded the new admit card for the NEET-UG exam to be held on June 21, do not need to download it again.
The agency said that the messages being sent through SMS, email and WhatsApp are mainly for those students who have not yet downloaded their new admit card.
According to NTA, the admit cards released on May 3 will no longer be valid as many students have been given new exam centers in the cities of their choice.
The agency said that it is enough to download the new admit card issued for the June 21 exam once and take a print out of it. On the basis of the same admit card, candidates will be able to appear in the exam.
There will be GPS tracking of vehicles carrying exam papers.
NTA has said that the security and operational arrangements will be tested through a mock drill organized on Saturday before the exam. The responsibility of safely delivering exam question papers and other confidential material to the exam centers has been given to the district administration, police and escort teams.
Center superintendents and invigilators will also be present at all the centres. Multi-layered arrangements have been made for the security of the exam. Confidential question papers and other materials will be kept under sealed protocol.
Vehicles carrying exam material will have GPS tracking and will be provided with police escort. All the exam centers will be under CCTV surveillance and their live monitoring will be done from the centralized control room.

Candidates should keep these things in mind before leaving home for the exam.
NTA has said that keeping in mind the heat and large number of candidates, arrangements have been made for power backup, adequate lighting, fans, wall clocks, drinking water, toilets and medical aid at all the exam centres.
According to NTA, candidates will be able to bring a transparent water bottle with them. Diabetic candidates will be allowed to bring sugar tablets and fruits like banana, apple or orange.
At the same time, candidates wearing religious or traditional attire and full sleeve or woolen clothes have been advised to reach earlier for the testing process.

Appeal to avoid rumours, keep an eye on social media
NTA said that social media platforms are being continuously monitored to prevent rumors and irregularities. The agency has lodged complaints with 14C/MHA, CBI and other cyber crime agencies and action is being taken against suspicious activities.
NTA has appealed to the candidates to rely only on official information and avoid paper leaks or rumors related to the exam. Information about suspicious messages and channels has been asked to be given to NTA or cyber crime agencies.
The agency has advised students to remain calm, confident in their preparation and use mental health helplines like Tele-MANAS (14416) if needed.
