The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has permitted candidates who have appeared for their Class 12 examinations but have not yet received their certificates to apply for the NDA & NA Examination. Interested candidates can refer to the official notification available on the UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.
According to the official notice: “Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination.”
UPSC NDA And NA Registration Deadline Today
The application window for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) Examination (II) 2026 will close today, June 9, 2026. Candidates can complete their registration through the official portal at upsconline.nic.in.
A total of 394 vacancies will be filled through this examination. Out of the total vacancies, 370 positions are for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and 24 for the Indian Naval Academy (INA – 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme). The NDA vacancies include 208 for the Army (198 men, 10 women), 42 for the Navy (37 men, 5 women), 92 for the Air Force (90 men, 2 women), 18 for Ground Duties (Technical) (16 men, 2 women), and 10 for Ground Duties (Non-Technical) (8 men, 2 women). For the INA, there are 24 vacancies for men and 3 for women.

UPSC NDA And NA Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the Army Wing of the NDA must have passed Class 12 under the 10+2 system or an equivalent examination conducted by a recognised State Education Board or University. For the Air Force and Naval Wings of the NDA, as well as the INA (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme), candidates must have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Applicants must be unmarried male or female candidates born between January 1, 2008, and January 1, 2011 (both dates inclusive).
UPSC NDA And NA Selection Process
The selection process includes a written examination (objective type), followed by SSB intelligence and personality tests, a medical examination, and document verification. The written examination is scheduled for September 13, 2026.
UPSC NDA And NA Application Fee
Candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs 100 (for General/OBC/EWS male candidates) while submitting the form online. However, female candidates of all categories, as well as SC/ST candidates, children of SC/ST individuals, candidates studying in Military Schools/Sainik Vidyalayas, and children of former JCOs/NCOs/ORs, are exempt from paying the fee.
