Fans of Indian football can breathe a sigh of relief as the ISL club had a crucial meeting with Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, who assured the sides that the Indian top-tier competition would run per schedule.
The ISL Clubs’ club-led model is reported to have received the green light by Mandaviya, with the AIFF set to receive ₹15.4 annually, in contrast to the legacy Genius Sports Framework.
The finalisation of a new financial framework between clubs and the AIFF for the next four years marked the highlight of the meeting that could have massive implicaltions on the nation’s football future.
In lines with the proposal, each club will pay a sum of ₹1.1 crore per season as a fixed fee to the All Indian Football Federation.
