It is alleged that Assam Rifles built a temporary bunker in New Haven without the consent of the village authority of Shokwao. This is a violation of village custom law under Manipur (Hill Areas Village Authorities) Act, 1956 and Article 371C. The situation in Shaoquao-New Haven is tense after the incident. The women have warned that Assam Rifles should be called back immediately, otherwise Assam Rifles will be held responsible for the untoward incident.
