The second shift of Forest Guard, Field Guard, Jail Guard and Assistant Jail Superintendent recruitment examination of Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Board (ESB) was postponed across the state on Sunday due to technical glitch. The exam was to be held from 2.30 to 4.30 pm, but it could not be conducted due to server failure. Thousands of candidates who reached the examination centers across the state had to wait for about three hours. After this, information about postponement of the examination was given, due to which resentment and anger was seen at many centres. Later ESB announced the new date of examination as June 20. Students from other districts had also come to take the exam. Dindori resident Dharmendra Dubey told that he works as a mechanic and had reached Satna a day before for the exam. He said, “Two days’ earnings and travel expenses were lost. After waiting for hours, the exam was cancelled. Who will compensate for this?” Candidates from many districts including Mandla, Chhindwara, Balaghat and Jabalpur also talked about similar problems and financial losses. Protest in Satna, candidates reached Collectorate. Candidates had to wait for a long time at the Aditya College examination center in Satna. After receiving the information, many students became angry and marched to the Collectorate under the leadership of NSUI State Secretary Anand Pandey. Here he staged a protest and submitted a memorandum. The candidates demanded action against the officials responsible for the irregularities in the examination and compensation for the financial loss incurred. The administration took the memorandum and assured to send the matter to a higher level. There were three centers in Satna, 500 students had come to appear for the examination. Three centers were made in Satna city for the examination. There were two centers in Aditya Engineering College while one center was made in Meera Convent Higher Secondary School located in Dalibaba. Online exams were to be held in the first shift from 10 to 12 in the morning and in the second shift from 2.30 to 4.30 in the afternoon. Around 500 students had reached Satna to appear in the examination. The examination was conducted duly in the first shift but the examination of the second shift could not start due to the server being down. Exams will be held again in the first shift on June 20. According to ESB, this exam which was to be held in the second shift on June 7 has now been postponed due to technical problem. This examination will now be conducted on June 20 from 10 am to 12 noon in the first shift.
