Sonu Mishra has been seen in serials like ‘Tenali Ram’ and ‘Vighnaharta Ganesh’.
Regarding the film ‘Black Deer’, actor Sonu Mishra has claimed that he was first selected to play the role of Salman Khan in the film, but later he himself left the project.
In an interview given to YouTube channel Jhalko Churu, Sonu told that in April 2026, he was contacted by a casting director for this film. Since it was a project related to Salman Khan, he immediately agreed. However, after the shooting started, he felt that Salman Khan was being shown in a one-sided and negative manner in the film.
He said, ‘I saw that the big star (Salman) was being targeted one-sidedly in the name of making a film. That too in a very negative manner. I asked the makers to show me the script. Tell me what my character will be. But he didn’t tell me anything.
He claimed that after listening to the courtroom scenes and lawyers’ arguments, he realized that the film’s narrative was biased. For this reason he decided to separate from the project.
Sonu also alleged that the makers had asked him to remove the shooting videos shared on social media.

Sonu Mishra played the character of a constable in Salman’s film ‘Sikander’.
Amid the ongoing controversy regarding the film ‘Black Deer’, the film’s producer Amit Jani tore the legal notice received from Salman Khan.
Amit Jani said in the video shared on his official Instagram account,
Everyone is asking me, media, friends, what do you have to say on Salman Khan’s notice? What should I say on this notice? For the last 36 hours, his fan following of Muslim boys from Dongri, Dharavi, Jogeshwari, his toolkit has sent thousands of messages to kill me, come to Mumbai and behead me and through his toolkit, a message, whether real or fake, I don’t know, has been sent in the name of D-Company. D-Company will not leave.

Jani further said that then to whom should I answer? Should I respond to the thousands of abuses and threats made by Salman Khan’s toolkit? Should I respond to this notice?

Earlier, in the video posted on the official Facebook account, Amit Jani had said that our entire film is not a biopic of Salman Khan. Our entire film is not from Salman Khan’s perspective.

Amit Jani has earlier made the film ‘Udaipur Files’ (2025).
While talking to ABP News, Jani had said that ‘Black Deer’ shows the struggle of the Bishnoi community, their heritage and their dedication towards wildlife. Salman Khan is just a part of the film.
