While sharing an anecdote from the 1995 superhit film ‘Coolie No. 1’, he said that after the success of the film, he had gifted a car to director David Dhawan and actor Govinda with his own money, because Ramesh Taurani did not want to be a part of it.

Actually, this whole controversy started after the song Chunari Chunari of the film being made under the direction of David Dhawan and production of Ramesh Taurani. Vasu has accused Ramesh Ramesh Taurani and David Dhawan of stealing the song Chunari Chunari.

Ramesh refused to gift the car Vashu Bhagnani said in his statement that he has always believed that the people who made it should benefit from the success of the film. In 1995, when ‘Coolie No. 1’ was about to be released, Tips Company was a 50 percent partner in the film.

Vashu Bhagnani had suggested to Ramesh Taurani that both of them together gift a car to David Dhawan and Govinda for the success of the film. But Ramesh Taurani had clearly refused this. After this, Vashu Bhagnani gifted a car to both of them at his level.

Controversy is going on regarding remake of songs This whole controversy has started regarding the songs of the film ‘Hai Jawaani To Ishq Hona Hai’ being made under the direction of David Dhawan and production of Ramesh Taurani. In this film, the superhit songs ‘Chunari Chunari’ and ‘Ishq Sona Hai’ from Vashu Bhagnani’s old films are being recreated.

Vashu Bhagnani says that due to the flop of his film ‘Coolie No. 1’ (2020), he had suffered a loss of about Rs 27 crore, for which no one took responsibility. Now he has said that using songs from his own films without his consent is against the ethics of the film industry.

If there is any future royalty or earnings from the songs created and produced by them, then a part of it should go to the actors, directors and writers who made those songs special.

Taking the names of Amitabh Bachchan, Govinda, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Tabu, Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Sushmita Sen and the family of late Satish Kaushik, he said that success should not be seen only in words but in actions.
