Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has warned that the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States applies across all fronts, including Lebanon, and said any breach in one area would be considered a violation of the entire truce.

In a post on X, Araghchi said the terms of the ceasefire were clear and accused the US and Israel of being responsible for any consequences arising from violations.

“The ceasefire between Iran and the US is unequivocally a ceasefire on all fronts, including in Lebanon,” Araghchi wrote.

“Its violation on one front is a violation of the ceasefire on all fronts. The US and Israel are responsible for the consequences of any violation,” he added.

The remarks come amid continuing disagreements over whether Lebanon is formally included in the US-Iran ceasefire framework.

Iran has repeatedly argued that any agreement must extend to Lebanon and include a halt to Israeli military operations against the Iran-backed Hezbollah group.

Israel and the United States, however, have previously signalled that the ceasefire primarily concerns direct hostilities involving Iran and does not automatically apply to operations in Lebanon.

The dispute has emerged as one of the major sticking points in efforts to stabilise the region after weeks of escalating conflict involving Iran, Israel, Hezbollah and US forces.

In recent weeks, Israeli strikes in Lebanon and Hezbollah attacks on Israeli positions have continued despite broader diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions.

Araghchi’s warning is likely to increase pressure on ongoing negotiations, as mediators seek to prevent the fragile ceasefire from collapsing and avoid a wider regional war.

The issue has also become closely linked to discussions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, sanctions relief and future US-Iran nuclear negotiations.
