Actor Ajith Kumar’s mother Mohini Mani passed away on Saturday in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She was 85 years old and was suffering from age-related diseases and health complications. Mohini’s last rites took place on Sunday morning at the Besant Nagar cremation ground in Chennai. His mortal remains were brought from his residence in Inzambakkam to Besant Nagar cremation ground. Ajit carried his mother’s mortal remains on his shoulders and took them to the cremation ground. According to News 18 report, the last rites were performed by Ajit Kumar’s brother Anil Kumar. Chief Minister Vijay reached Ajit’s house after receiving information about his mother’s demise. Ajit reached Chennai. Many celebs associated with the film industry have expressed condolences to Ajit and his family. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay and actress Trisha Krishnan reached Ajith’s house on Saturday evening. Both paid tribute to him. Actor Sarathkumar, Nasir, Director Shankar, A.L. Many film personalities including Vijay, Shiva also came to pay tribute. On the demise of Mohini Mani, CM Vijay said that he is deeply saddened by the news of the demise of his dear friend and actor Ajith Kumar’s mother Mohini Ammaiyar. He expressed condolences to Ajit Kumar and his family while praying for the peace of the departed soul. Ajith’s father died in 2023. Ajith Kumar is a very famous actor of Tamil cinema. He has worked in many films like ‘Kaadhal Kottai’, ‘Vaali’, ‘Deena’, ‘Billa’, ‘Mankatha’, ‘Vishwasam’ and ‘Valimai’. Ajith’s father P. Subramaniam was a Tamil Brahmin resident of Palakkad, Kerala. He died in the year 2023. His mother Mohini belonged to the Sindhi community and was a resident of Kolkata. Ajit is the second among three brothers. His elder brother Anoop Kumar is a stockbroker in New York, while younger brother Anil Kumar is a businessman. Ajit married actress Shalini in the year 2000. Both of them met on the sets of the film ‘Amarkalam’. They have two children, daughter Anushka and son Advik.
