A sudden fire broke out in the Tarang Auditorium in Rampur during the staging of actor Ashutosh Rana’s show ‘Hamare Ram’ in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh on Saturday evening. Many artists including actor Ashutosh Rana were performing in the program. Meanwhile, there was a sudden short circuit in the control panel of a room located below the green room of the auditorium. After this a fire broke out in the control panel. Within no time the room was filled with smoke. As soon as information about the fire was received, there was panic among the people present at the venue. Electricity was switched off for safety. According to eyewitnesses, as soon as the fire broke out, the lights of the auditorium were switched off and the entire complex was engulfed in darkness. To control the situation and avoid a major accident, the power supply to the entire complex was switched off as a precautionary measure. The program had to be stopped midway due to fire and smoke. Organizers immediately began evacuating the artists and audience. Actor Ashutosh Rana was also taken out of the auditorium in view of security. The staff first tried to extinguish the fire themselves. After the incident, the auditorium management and event organizers tried to control the fire with the fire fighting equipment installed in the complex. However, the fire could not be completely controlled in the initial efforts. After this, the fire brigade of the Municipal Corporation was informed and the team reached the spot. The fire brigade brought the fire under control. The fire brigade team reached the spot and started the operation to extinguish the fire. The firemen completely controlled the fire within a short time, thereby averting a major accident. After the fire was extinguished, officials took stock of the situation.
