As Karnataka prepares for a change in leadership, astrologer Dwarakanath Guruji has predicted a long political innings for Congress leader DK Shivakumar and suggested multiple dates for his swearing in as chief minister. The prediction comes at a time when Shivakumar is widely expected to be elected leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP), paving the way for him to take charge of the state government.
Speaking to PTI Videos, Guruji said he had suggested three possible dates for Shivakumar’s oath taking ceremony. “I have given him some three dates. I mean, Sunday (May 31), June 5 and June 6,” he said.
Astrologer Predicts Long Tenure
Guruji expressed confidence that Shivakumar would enjoy a lengthy tenure as chief minister and continue to play a significant role in Karnataka politics.
“He is not a one day chief minister or one time CM. He will play a long innings. His horoscope is very good. He will be there for Karnataka for a longer period of time,” the astrologer said.
He also claimed that Shivakumar would receive the backing of the Congress high command and remain at the centre of the state’s political landscape.
‘Will Return To Power In 2028’
The astrologer went a step further, predicting that Shivakumar would lead the Congress to victory in the next Assembly election and return to office.
“Undoubtedly, he has to win the next election. Then only he is the real chief minister. Now, only he is loaded with responsibilities,” Guruji said.
“Discharge the responsibilities now and enjoy the chief ministership in the next term,” he added.
According to Guruji, Karnataka could witness a period of growth and stability under Shivakumar’s leadership, citing the Congress leader’s vision for the state.
Leadership Transition Gains Momentum
The political developments come amid a leadership transition in Karnataka. Siddaramaiah submitted his resignation as chief minister on Thursday, saying he was acting in accordance with the decision of the Congress high command. His resignation was formally accepted by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot on Friday, clearing the way for the formation of a new government.
Following his resignation, Siddaramaiah travelled to New Delhi, where he met senior Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge, on Friday. The meetings took place as the party worked out the final details of the transition and prepared for the election of a new Congress Legislature Party leader in Karnataka.
CLP Meeting Today
The Congress Legislature Party is scheduled to meet on Saturday at 4 pm at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru to elect its new leader.
The meeting comes after Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot accepted the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and dissolved the state Cabinet, setting the stage for the formation of a new government.
Senior Congress leaders have been engaged in discussions over the transition, with Shivakumar set to be formally chosen as the next chief minister.
