The PM had urged people to take precautions, keep themselves hydrated and advised the elderly and loved ones not to go out in the hot afternoon sun.

Who is BJP leader Dr. Satish Poonia?
Dr. Satish Poonia is counted among the very powerful leaders of Rajasthan BJP. Born in a farmer family of Churu, Poonia’s father Pradhan and uncle were freedom fighters. He did his Ph.D. in Geography from Rajasthan University. And has obtained LLB degree.
Poonia, who has been active in Sangh and BJP organization since student politics, contested his first election from Sadulpur in the year 2000, but he lost. In the year 2018, he registered a spectacular victory from Amer Assembly seat and was also the state president of Rajasthan BJP. In his post on May 27, Prime Minister Modi, while appealing to the countrymen to be sensitive and alert in this extreme heat, wrote on I urge all the countrymen to take as much caution as possible. Please keep yourself hydrated, carry water with you whenever you step out of the house. In such weather, your sensitivity also becomes a great support. If possible, give a glass of water to a thirsty person. I would also appreciate those people who keep water in pots outside their homes and shops so that anyone can drink water from them.
