Webflow Staff Say They Got No Layoff Confirmation After Lockouts
“Do I still have a job?” an employee of marketing firm Webflow asked his manager after being unable to access his laptop since 7 am one morning.
“I’m locked out of my Webflow laptop since 7 am this morning. Rumor has it we’ve been laid off, but I don’t have an email or any message to confirm anything,” he wrote to his manager.
He further questioned whether Linda would lay people off again without informing them first, especially employees on closed work permits in foreign countries, where losing a job could mean relocating their entire family.
Soon after, Webflow CEO Linda Tong posted a polished blog titled “Evolving Webflow for the agentic web.”
“So yes, Mark W., looks like you and a whole lot more have been laid off,” the blog implied.
Linda confirmed that the company had made the difficult decision to restructure Webflow’s team and operating model. “As a result, many of our Webflow teammates are leaving the company today,” she added.
“We’re at an inflection point, both as a company and as an industry,” Linda explained in the blog post. “AI is rewriting the rules for how marketing teams create, test, and optimize digital experiences.”

Linda also said affected employees would receive separation support, including 16 weeks of severance along with an additional week of base pay for every completed year of service, six months of COBRA coverage for departing US-based teammates, continued benefits and career resources where legally permissible, and the ability to keep their company-issued laptops.
“To those leaving Webflow: thank you. You helped shape this company. You built important parts of our platform, served our customers, supported each other, and made Webflow better. Your work here matters. I know a thank you does not make today easier, but I mean it,” Linda added.
