Speculation over a possible leadership change in Karnataka has intensified after marathon meetings between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and the Congress high command in Delhi. While the Congress officially maintained that discussions focused only on Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council polls, sources told NDTV that a power transition could now be in motion. Reports suggest Siddaramaiah may step down within days, with DK Shivakumar emerging as the frontrunner for the Chief Minister’s post. The political buzz has only grown louder after Siddaramaiah returned to Bengaluru and called for a breakfast meeting with party leaders, even as DK Shivakumar stayed back in Delhi for further consultations. The BJP, meanwhile, has mocked the Congress over the prolonged uncertainty, calling the Karnataka government “a government in coma.”
