Dhruv Rathi had written on social media platform X on May 19 that wherever Prime Minister Narendra Modi goes, he should be embarrassed everywhere. Six days after this statement, on Monday, BJP leader and actress Rupali Ganguly wrote a long note targeting Dhruv Rathi. He described PM Modi as the most respected leader in the world and said that India does not need a YouTuber who sits abroad and makes fun of the country. She said- PM Modi got respect from the world. Rupali Ganguly wrote in her post that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the elected leader of the world’s largest democracy. He has been winning elections continuously for the last 25 years, first as Chief Minister and now as Prime Minister. Countries around the world have honored him with their highest civilian honors. Crores of people of India love and respect him very much. It is not acceptable for such a respected leader to use such language. Dhruv Rathi wrote- Embarrass Modi. YouTuber Dhruv Rathi had shared a post on X (earlier Twitter) on May 19. In this he had written that wherever Modi goes, he should be embarrassed everywhere. After becoming the Prime Minister, he has not held a single press conference in the last 12 years. Dhruv Rathi further wrote that he will also ask foreign journalists from other countries to ask questions to PM Modi wherever they meet him. Force them to answer in front of people. After this post of Dhruv Rathi, debate started on social media. The controversy started after the journalist’s video. This entire controversy started after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Norway. In Oslo, Norwegian journalist Helle Lange had tried to ask questions to the Prime Minister about human rights and democracy in India. During this time, PM Modi had moved ahead without answering. After the video of this incident surfaced, social media was divided into two parts, after which Dhruv Rathi wrote this post in support of the journalist. Accusing Dhruv Rathi of running propaganda while sitting abroad, the actress further targeted Dhruv Rathi and wrote that the 140 crore citizens of the country are fully capable of deciding the progress of India. The country does not need advice from a YouTuber living abroad who is completely out of touch with the ground reality of India. He alleged that Dhruv Rathi’s entire online career is based on criticizing India, making fun of it and spreading fear among the people. Actress Rupali Ganguly, who had joined BJP in the year 2024, is active in politics along with acting. She joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He took membership of the party on 1 May 2024 at the BJP headquarters in Delhi. At that time she had said that she was coming into politics after being influenced by PM Modi’s development work and his personality. Actress Gul Panag has also criticized. Earlier, actress Gul Panag has also criticized this post of Dhruv Rathi. Gul Panag wrote on Dhruv Rathi’s post that you can dislike a Prime Minister, disagree with the government, debate and vote differently. This is what democracy looks like. But it is not right to make fun of the office of the Prime Minister of India and the person he represents abroad on foreign soil. This is not the right way to protest, rather it only harms us.
