Raj Babbar’s son Arya Babbar has recently spoken about the affair between his father and Smita Patil. He says that he had a lot of problems due to their affair. Arya Babbar also says that he calls Smita Patil as Smita Maa, but Prateik Babbar does not consider his father as his father. He also said that there can be no reconciliation between him and Prateek. Raj Babbar married Nadira Zaheer, with whom he had two children, Arya Babbar and Juhi. Arya was just 3 years old when Raj Babbar married Smita Patil and left his first wife and children. However, three years later, when Smita gave birth to son Prateek, she died due to delivery complications. After this Raj Babbar started living with his first wife. All these things caused tension in family relationships. Recently, Prateik Babbar did not invite his father to the wedding and then removed his father’s surname from his name and added mother Smita’s name. Even then these relationships remained in controversies. Now in a recent interview given to Vicky Lalwani, Arya Babbar said on Smita-Raj’s relationship, I am 44 years old today, this happened when I was 4-5 years old. My father did a lot in life after that. But the most important thing that remains for all of us is that our father had an affair. He respected and supported a relationship. It became an issue in all of our lives. Which probably shouldn’t happen, because we’ve all moved on. Further, when asked whether this spoiled his relationship with his father, Arya says, which child would like his father to have an affair outside. If you had known that your father was having an affair, you would have felt better. Everyone started moving. Papa moved on, he also had a second affair. Arya also told in the conversation that Raj Babbar had bought a house for Smita Patil and he left the family and started living with her. Prateik Babbar currently lives in that house with his wife. Arya further said, I love and respect Smita Maa because my father gave her that love and respect. Our mother has explained to us that no matter what happens, our nature should not be wrong with Prateek. Our mother taught us, not our father. This is why we live well with him. When I saw that Prateek was calling my mother as mother, I also started calling Smita as Smita Maa. At last Arya said, Smita Maa, for whom Papa left us, today her child is not considering Papa as his father. He also made it clear that now his relationship with Pratik will never improve.
