He was close to Abu Dujana, Abu Qasim, Burhan Wani and Zakir Musa. He was considered one of the masterminds of the 2019 Pulwama terror attack in which 40 soldiers were martyred. Hamza, 23, was associated with the terrorist organization Al Badr. Al Badr has been declared a terrorist organization by the government. He had gone to Pakistan legally. Going there he joined Al Badr and later became an active terrorist and commander of the organization. Presently he was working from Pakistan only. He is accused of instigating the youth to join Al Badr and also providing funding. According to the investigating agencies, in 2020, CRPF was also involved in activities like grenade attacks on soldiers and recruiting youth into terrorist organizations. Hamza was close to Burhan Wani. According to reports, Hamza Burhan was active in Pakistan and PoK for a long time. Burhan was killed outside AIMS College in Muzaffarabad. He was a close associate of Abu Dujana, Abu Qasim, Burhan Wani and Zakir Musa. Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir on 8 July 2016. There was prolonged violence and protests in Kashmir after his death. After the death of Burhan Wani, Zakir Musa became the commander of Hizbul. He was killed in a security forces operation in Tral area of Pulwama district on 23 May 2019. 40 CRPF soldiers were martyred in Pulwama attack. On 14 February 2019, there was a suicide terrorist attack on CRPF convoy in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist Adil Ahmed Dar had rammed an SUV laden with explosives into buses in Lethpora area on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway. The explosion was so powerful that two buses were blown to pieces and 40 soldiers were martyred. Investigation revealed that the security agencies had received many intelligence inputs before the attack, but the terrorist conspiracy could not be stopped.
