TV actress Shagun Sharma is now going to be seen in the reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 15’. In a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Shagun talked about her biggest fear, the struggle of coming to Mumbai, mental strength and her preparation for ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’. She told that she is most afraid of heights and sometimes she even freezes after going to heights. However, now she wants to defeat this fear.
Question: What are you most afraid of?
Answer: I am most afraid of heights. Whenever I go to very high altitude, I start shivering. Sometimes I even freeze, but I think this show is a very good platform to defeat that fear.
Question: How will you overcome that fear?
Answer: I will convince myself that I am safe. There is a harness and complete safety. The real fear is that we might fall or something might happen. If I can remove that fear from my mind, then maybe I will be able to do well.
Shagun made her debut with Star Plus show ‘Kuch To Hai Tere Mere Darmiyan’.
Question: What was the biggest risk in life?
Answer: Coming to Mumbai and acting. I am from Himachal Pradesh. Leaving studies and coming to this industry, where I did not know anyone, my family also had no connection here. That was a big risk for me.
Question: What was the biggest culture shock after coming to Mumbai?
Answer: Coming to Mumbai from Himachal was a big culture shock. People coming from there find many things different here, but I did college here, so gradually I became comfortable in the lifestyle of Mumbai.
Question: Will real life struggles help ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’?
Answer: I don’t think I have ever been alone in my life. My family and my friends have always been with me. If I have any problem there too, I can call or message them. Their support is a great strength for me.
Question: This time old and new contestants will be together. Is there excitement about it?
Answer: Perhaps that is why this time the theme has been kept as ‘New era of fear’. It has never happened before that old and new contestants have come together, but I do not want to keep any fear in my mind beforehand. Because if I think in advance, I will scare myself more.
Question: Who do you think is the strongest contestant this time?
Answer: If I have to take names of top contenders, then Rubina Dilaik, Karan Wahi, Ritwik Dhanjani and Gaurav Khanna. I have seen Rubina’s old stunts and she is very strong. The rest of the guys are also strong, but I haven’t seen much of their stunts.
Shagun also played the role of Paridhi ‘Pari’ Veerani in Smriti Irani’s show ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2’.
Question: With whom are you going to be friends?
Answer: I think I will become everyone’s friend. I am a very happy-go-lucky person. I can take jokes on myself as well as on others. So I don’t think anyone will have any problem. I will create a fun BTS with Ori in the show and will also do his signature pose.
Question: When the call for the show came for the first time, what was your reaction?
Answer: My first reaction was- ‘Finally!’ Because I really wanted it to happen. I myself also wanted to do ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’. I didn’t tell anyone until the call came. When everything was finalized, I went home and told my mother. She was shocked at first and said- ‘How will you take threats?’ Then I became a little emotional because I would have to go out for a long time.
Question: How are you preparing yourself mentally and physically?
Answer: I am mentally very strong, but physically, I am working hard where I feel there may be some shortcomings. I am doing calisthenics, gym and also swimming. I feel that where physical strength is lacking, I will cover it with mental strength.
Question: Girls from the mountains are considered very strong. Is there pressure on that tag?
Answer: This time there are only two Pahadi girls – me and Rubina. People consider girls from the mountains to be hardworking and strong, so I will try not to prove them wrong.
Apart from television, Shagun has also worked in the short film ‘Mera Number Kab Aayega’ (2021).
Question: You have a very strong and serious image on TV, will people be able to see the real Shagun in this show?
Answer: Absolutely. After social media, it has become a bit easy for people to break the image, but in ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ people will see the real Shagun. I am a very chill person in real life and don’t take myself too seriously.
Question: What are the reactions of the fans?
Answer: In all the DMs I am receiving, people are saying that ‘You are the winner.’ It feels great to see that people trust me so much. I am also going with the same thinking that I have to win.
Question: If you win the show, what will you do first?
Answer: I will party a lot and go somewhere.
Question: What was the biggest lesson of life?
Answer: I always felt that I have become very comfortable in the world of fiction, but life grows only where your comfort zone ends. So I thought I should try non-fiction.
Question: What would you like to say to the fans in the end?
Answer: I just want to say that definitely watch the show. We all work very hard, not just on-screen but off-screen too. The entire team takes great care of our safety and please, do not try any stunt at home.
