US President Donald Trump will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping for the second time today. The eyes of the world are fixed on the meeting of the two leaders.

According to reports, a big Boeing aircraft deal worth around ₹ 9 lakh crore can be made in this meeting. China may sign an agreement to purchase a large number of aircraft from American aircraft manufacturer Boeing.

Apart from trade and investment, many international issues are also likely to be discussed in this meeting. These also include the increasing tension regarding Taiwan and the situation of war related to Iran.

There has been tension between America and China for some time regarding trade, technology and security. However, both the countries are also trying to improve relations.

Trump had yesterday accompanied the Chinese President to visit the famous Heaven Temple in Beijing.

Trump said- there is mutual respect between the people of America and China

US President Donald Trump yesterday mentioned the historical relations between America and China at a state dinner with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Trump said that there has been a feeling of mutual respect between the people of America and China for a long time.

Trump further explained that Benjamin Franklin, one of America’s founding leaders, had spread the ideas of Chinese philosopher Confucius to the people. The people of China presented a memorial stone in memory of America’s first President George Washington. On that he was described as a great leader and commander.

Also, Trump said that Chinese laborers had a major contribution in laying the railway line connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans in America. At the same time, travelers from America to China helped in the spread of education and modern medicine there.

Trump also mentioned former US President Theodore Roosevelt. He said that with the help of Roosevelt, China’s famous Tsinghua University was started, where Xi Jinping studied.

Talks possible on 4 more important issues between Trump and Jinping

1. Trade Tariff Dispute

US-China trade war is still a big issue. Trump has previously warned of heavy tariffs on Chinese goods. Both countries can now talk about reducing trade tensions.

2. Taiwan and arms sales

There is also tension between the two countries regarding Taiwan. Trump has said that he will talk to Xi Jinping on an $11 billion US arms package. China considers Taiwan as its own and has consistently opposed US arms sales.

3. Rare Earth Minerals and AI

Rare earth minerals are very important for electric vehicles, chips and defense industry. China is the world’s largest supplier, while America wants to reduce its dependence. Competition between the two countries has also intensified regarding AI and semiconductor technology.

4. Soybean and Agricultural Trade

China is a big market for American farmers. After the trade war, China had reduced its purchase of American soybean. Now the Trump administration may try to increase agricultural exports.
