Realme 16T 5G confirmed to launch in India on May 22 with 8,000mAh battery

The Realme 16 series is set to welcome its fourth member. The Realme 16T 5G, notes the company, is set to launch on May 22. The upcoming handset will join the existing Realme 16, Realme 16 Pro, and Realme 16 Pro+ in the lineup.

Ahead of the launch, the company has already started building buzz by setting up dedicated micro-sites on both its official website and on an e-commerce platform. The company has also taken the wraps off several key details, confirming the smartphone will arrive in three colour options, while shedding light on its battery capacity and design.

What we know about Realme 16T 5G

Realme has confirmed via a post on X that the Realme 16T 5G will be available in three colour options — Starlight Black, Starlight Red, and a blue shade. The device will go on sale in India through Flipkart and the Realme India online store.

On the design front, the Realme 16T 5G sports a flat rear panel with a square-shaped camera island housing a dual rear camera setup, an LED flash, and a selfie mirror. The power button and volume controls are positioned on the right spine, while the left side is kept clean for a minimal look. At 8.8mm, the handset maintains a slim profile.

Powering the Realme 16T 5G is a sizeable 8,000mAh Titan Battery, which the company claims would deliver up to three days of usage on a single charge. To put that into perspective, Realme says the battery is capable of sustaining 14.3 hours of gaming, 34 hours of social media scrolling, or 21.9 hours of navigation without needing a top-up.

Built for the long haul, the cell is also claimed to remain usable for up to seven years. On the charging front, the device supports 45W wired fast charging, alongside bypass charging and wired reverse charging.

Ahead of its official launch, the Realme 16T 5G has already made an appearance on the Geekbench benchmarking platform, giving us a glimpse of what to expect under the hood. The listing suggests the handset will be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, featuring two performance cores clocked at 2.4GHz and six efficiency cores running at 2GHz, paired with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The device is also expected to ship with at least 8GB of RAM and run Android 16 out of the box.

Further details, including the chipset, full camera configuration, and India pricing, are expected to be revealed in the days leading up to the launch.
