Satrangi trailer: Anshumaan Pushkar’s Launda Naach act drives revenge drama

The trailer of Satrangi – Badle Ka Khel has been unveiled, offering a glimpse into a gritty revenge drama set against the feudal politics of rural Uttar Pradesh. Led by Anshumaan Pushkar and Kumud Mishra, the series explores the traditional folk performance form of Launda Naach while weaving together themes of caste, power, dignity and survival.

The trailer follows Bablu Mahto, played by Anshumaan, whose life changes after his father is found hanging from a tree branch. Coming from a family of Launda Naach performers, Bablu is forced to step into his father’s role after his death.

As he grows up in a deeply divided feudal society shaped by caste and political dominance, Bablu realises that survival depends not on physical strength but on understanding how power operates. Living a double life as Bablu and Lalli, he carefully navigates two contrasting worlds – one driven by control and violence, and the other by performance and tradition.

The trailer hints at a dangerous conflict brewing between two influential families, the Singhs and the Pandeys, as Bablu slowly begins setting his revenge plan into motion. What begins as a personal revenge story soon turns into a larger battle for dignity, influence and power.

Kumud Mishra plays a ruthless minister in the series, while Mahvash stars as Anshumaan Pushkar’s love interest. The show also features Upen Chauhan and Kashish Duggal in key roles.

For the unversed, Launda Naach is a traditional North Indian folk performance where men dress in female attire and perform at weddings and community celebrations. The art form has been carried forward for generations in rural India and is considered a cultural performance tradition rather than an expression of gender identity.

Directed by Jai Basantu Singh and produced by RND Film LLP, Satrangi – Badle Ka Khel is set to premiere on May 22.
