Rapper and Singer King i.e. Arpan Kumar Chandel is now going to enter the world of acting. He is making his acting debut with the web series Lukkhe, in which Palak Tiwari will also be seen with him. This series has been streamed on Amazon Prime Video. In a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar before the release, both the actors spoke openly on issues like their characters, auditions, friendship, effect of drugs on youth, social media and AI. While Prince explained the philosophy of his character ‘Badnaam’, Palak shared interesting things related to the emotional journey of ‘Sanobar’. Question: When you came to know about the title ‘Lukkha’, what was your first reaction? Answer/Prince: I was told the story first, not the title. The story seemed so powerful that it was then decided to do this project. Later, when I heard the name ‘Lukhe’, I felt that this title fits the story perfectly. Question: What was it about the story that impressed you the most? Answer/Prince: The story unfolds slowly. There are characters in it who earn fame by becoming infamous. That was the thing I found most interesting. Question: Palak, how did you get ‘Lukkha’? Answer/Palak Tiwari: First I got the script of the audition. There were two scenes in it and I cried after reading them. Then I felt that this is a very emotional and impactful story. Question: How was the audition experience? Answer/Wink: I gave auditions many times. Was called about six-seven times. Then when the selection happened and the whole story came to light, I realized that it was even better than what I had thought. Question: Even after working so much, do you still give auditions? Answer/Wink: Of course. I think auditioning is an actor’s duty. It is not right to just ask for a role without showing how you will play the character. I love auditioning. Question: Prince, do you also consider auditions important? Answer/Prince: Yes. Just like a singer should keep making songs continuously, similarly auditions are necessary for an actor. Through this the artist improves himself further. Question: How different was it to move from music to acting? Answer/Prince: It was a lot of fun for me. Grishma and Debu had created the story with such good intentions that it was more fun to play it. Question: How similar is your character ‘Badnaam’ to you in real life? Answer/Prince: Quite different. Badnaam takes many wrong decisions, I am not like that. But one thing is clear that he loves his family and loved ones very much. Question: Palak, how much is your character ‘Sanobar’ similar to you? Answer/Wink: We both are quite different, but one thing is common that Sanobar gives a lot of importance to her family and loved ones. She is grateful for every little thing and that resonates with me. Question: Can you connect yourself with Sanobar’s life? Answer/Wink: To some extent. But his childhood was very difficult, whereas I was brought up in a very safe environment. That’s why I am not able to relate to all his problems. Question: The series talks about drugs and wrong paths. What message would you like to give to the youth? Answer/Prince: The show is not just about drugs, but about its consequences. If one sees himself in these characters, he should understand what the consequences of wrong decisions are. Question: What advice do you give a young person who is lost? Answer/Prince: First of all I try to make him understand what is most important for him in life. Every problem passes with time, so there is no need to depend on anything wrong. Question: Palak, how do you look at this issue? Answer/Wink: It is very important to talk about this in today’s time. This is not limited to just the music industry, this is a problem in schools and colleges and all over the world. The more awareness spreads, the better it will be. Question: Palak, which song of Prince do you like the most? Answer/Palak: I like all his songs. I was associated with his music from ‘Maeri Jaan’, but the songs written by him in ‘Lukhe’ impressed me a lot. Especially ‘we will survive’. Question: Prince, why is ‘Hum Jee Lenge’ special for you? Answer/Prince: Because this song is not only important for the series but also for real life. It talks about hope, love and struggle. Question: What would you like to say about Palak? Answer/Prince: Palak is a very mature and intelligent person. He always took the initiative in friendship. Her best quality is that she can walk into any room and make people her own. Question: How do you see the increasing use of AI? Answer/Prince: AI is a good tool, but it cannot replace human emotions and feelings. I always believe in things that are original and made from the heart. Question: What special are you going to do on Mother’s Day? Answer/Blink: I will go home early that day and spend more time with mom. Mother doesn’t need much, she just needs companionship. Question: What would you like to say about your viral social media videos? Answer/Prince: I am not very active on the internet. I stay away from reels and viral things. Question: Which was the most memorable DM? Answer/Prince: Recently a message came from a boy, who was going through a very difficult phase. After reading his words, I felt his problem and helped him. Question: Palak, do you read DM? Answer/Palak: To be honest, I don’t read DMs much.
