Sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has been claimed to have written a suicide note before he died. This alleged suicide note has been sealed in the New York court for the last seven years. For this reason it has not been made public yet.
According to the New York Times report, till now even the agencies investigating Epstein’s death have not found this important evidence. If this note was indeed written by Epstein, it could provide important information about his mental state.
According to the report, this note was found by Epstein’s fellow prisoner Nicholas Tartaglione in July 2019. At that time, Epstein was found unconscious in jail with a cloth tied around his neck.
His life was saved in that incident. But he died in prison a few weeks later, which medical officials ruled a suicide.

Epstein was found dead in this jail room.
Wrote in the note – Now is the time to say goodbye
According to Tartaglione, it was written in this note that investigative agencies investigated Epstein for months, but nothing was found. It was also written in the note, ‘What do you want from me, should I cry? Now it’s time to say goodbye.
However, the US Justice Department says that they do not have this note, so they cannot confirm it.
The note was sealed at the behest of the federal judge.
According to reports, the note later became part of Tartaglione’s own criminal case and was sealed by a federal judge. For this reason, those investigating Epstein’s death could not find this important evidence. The New York Times has recently demanded the court to make this note public.
Meanwhile, a two-page timeline in the records shows that Tartaglione’s lawyers claimed the note was genuine, but it is not clear how.
A Justice Department spokeswoman said the agency made great efforts to collect all the documents related to the Epstein case, including records from the Bureau of Prisons and the Inspector General Office. Despite this he does not have this note.
Many lapses in security after Epstein’s death
According to the Justice Department, after Epstein’s death, many shortcomings in the security of the Manhattan Correctional Center were revealed, which raised many questions and theories about his death.
Epstein told authorities after the July incident that Tartaglione attacked him, but later said he had no problems with his fellow inmate.
Tartaglione was the first police officer to be convicted in 2023 of four murders. He is serving four life sentences. He has always denied allegations of assault against Epstein and claimed his innocence.

Suicide note was found inside a book
According to Tartaglione, he found this note inside a book in his prison room. It was written on yellow paper, which was torn from a legal pad. He gave this note to his lawyers, so that if Epstein continued to accuse him, it could be used in his defense.
according to the timeline
27 July 2019– Just four days after Epstein’s suicide attempt, Tartaglione told his lawyer Bruce Barkett about the note. Later another lawyer, John Weider, was asked to take these notes. Lawyers tried to authenticate it twice, but were initially unsuccessful.
Late 2019 or early 2020 This suicide note was authenticated.
Ultimately Judge Kenneth Karas ordered that the note be handed over to the court. John Weider told that he himself had submitted this note in the court, but he did not remember what was written in it. Later, due to a dispute between the lawyers, the documents related to this were also sealed.
The court spokesperson refused to give any statement on this, but said that such sealed records are kept in the court vault for safe keeping.
