Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee alleged that BJP supporters misbehaved with a woman party worker in front of her two-year-old daughter in West Bengal’s Paschim Medinipur district.
He expressed hope that the Election Commission will take action against those involved in this attack on the woman worker. He said that one person has been arrested, but action should be taken against all the people named in the FIR.
During a rally in Cooch Behar, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accused the central government of misuse of agencies and said that efforts are being made to suppress the opposition.
He alleged that BJP wants to implement delimitation by putting forward the Women’s Reservation Bill. Mamata made it clear that her party will support the Women’s Reservation Bill, but will continue to oppose the Delimitation Bill.
Whereas BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari rejected Mamata Banerjee’s allegation of division of Bengal and called the delimitation completely constitutional. He said that opposing the process under the Constitution is against the country and will not be accepted.
