Russian President Vladimir Putin will “definitely” attend the upcoming BRICS summit in India later this year, according to the Kremlin. The confirmation was shared by spokesperson Dmitry Peskov and reported by Russian news agency TASS.

The exact dates and schedule for the 18th BRICS summit are yet to be officially announced. India, which is hosting the summit, has set the theme as “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability,” reflecting a people-centric and global approach.

Putin’s Second Visit Within A Year

Putin’s visit will mark his second trip to India within a year. He last visited in December 2025 for the annual India-Russia summit at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
