Anant Ambani said Vantara University will create legends for the field of wildlife in the upcoming years and produce top-class veterinarians every year.

Vantara, the wildlife conservation organisation founded by Reliance Industries Executive Director Anant Ambani, launched the Vantara University in Jamnagar, Gujarat, on Friday, the world’s first integrated global university dedicated to wildlife conservation and veterinary sciences.
Speaking at the launch, Anant Ambani said, “Everyone out here made Vantara what it is. Vantara is part of Reliance, and we are extremely grateful. We are here to create a legacy that will not only fully serve the current corpus of wildlife but will also leave a legacy that will serve the world for the next 1,000 years.”
He said the university will create legends for the field of wildlife in the upcoming years. “We will be the best, the most dynamic and advanced university in the world. It will not only serve Mother Nature, but it will also be key to solving many diseases in the world, which will help not only animals but also humans.
Anant Ambani also emphasised that the university would produce top-class veterinarians every year and conduct ground-breaking research to protect wildlife. “As in Hindu culture, we say every animal has come for a purpose. It’s a creation of God. We need to protect Mother Nature,” he said.
“We will be creators of the future for wildlife, for animals and veterinary support. Together, we are going to create history, we are going to make my parents proud and India proud.”
Vantara University aims to develop future leaders in veterinary medicine, conservation, and wildlife care. Its curriculum will utilise India’s enduring knowledge traditions to shape a purpose-led and future-facing model of education.
It will unite diverse disciplines within a single academic ecosystem, rooted in real-world conservation practices. Drawing on Vantara’s on-ground expertise, the university will translate field knowledge into academic programmes, professional training, and globally relevant frameworks.
The foundation ceremony, conducted in accordance with Hindu traditions, brought together representatives from academia, science, conservation, and public life, including Anant Ambani’s teachers and mentors. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Anant Ambani’s wife Radhika Merchant were also present on the occasion.
