US-Israel-Iran War Latest News, Ceasefire Updates Today: U.S. President Donald Trump has promised the United States’ role in the traffic buildup in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime chokepoint that was blocked by Iran in the wake of the war in West Asia.
In his latest post on Truth Social, Trump suggested that the Middle East could be entering a transformative phase following the announcement of a temporary ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
“A big day for World Peace! Iran wants it to happen, they’ve had enough! Likewise, so has everyone else!” he wrote.
On Tuesday (local time), the president announced he has agreed to suspend strikes on Iran for two weeks as part of a ceasefire deal if Tehran completely reopens the vital Strait of Hormuzafter previously threatening a “whole civilisation will die tonight” if Tehran failed to reach a deal.
“Subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks,” Trump said on Truth Social.

Iran Agrees To Ceasefire, Warns Against Violation
Iran also agreed to the ceasefiresaying it would guarantee safe passage for maritime traffic through the vital Strait of Hormuz for two weeks.
“It is emphasised that this does not signify the termination of the war,” the statement said.
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council warned that any violation to the ceasefire would invite sharp attacks. “Our hands remain upon the trigger, and should the slightest error be committed by the enemy, it shall be met with full force,” Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said.
