Actor Rajkumar Rao has started shooting for the biopic of former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly, which has been titled ‘Dada’. Giving information about this, Rajkumar wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday, “And it begins… the only grandfather.” Let us tell you that the biopic is being produced by Luv Ranjan and directed by Vikramaditya Motwane. Earlier, Sourav Ganguly had told that Rajkumar Rao will play his role in the film, however due to date problems, the film may take more than a year to release. Rajkummar Rao will soon be seen in another biopic ‘Nikam’, which is based on the life of lawyer Ujjwal Nikam. Apart from this, he will be seen in ‘Raftaar’, which also stars Keerthy Suresh. This film will be released in theaters on 24 July 2026. Ganguly is one of the greatest ODI batsmen. Sourav Ganguly played 113 Test and 311 ODI (ODI) matches for India. He scored a total of 18,575 runs in his international career, which includes 11,363 runs in ODIs and 7,212 runs in Tests. Ganguly is one of the few batsmen in the world to score more than 11,000 runs in the history of ODI cricket. As captain, he led India to 21 Test wins and reached the final of the 2003 ODI World Cup. Ganguly retired from international cricket in 2008. After this, Ganguly was also the President of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) from 2015-2019 and is holding this post again from 22 September 2025. Ganguly became the 39th President of BCCI on 23 October 2019 and will hold the post till 18 October 2022.
