For the first time in America, a President himself attended the Supreme Court hearing. Trump went to the court to look into the matter related to his own decision, which involves limiting birthright citizenship.

Trump arrived at the court in a black suit and red tie via motorcade from the White House and sat in the first row of the public gallery. He stayed there for about an hour and left after the government lawyer’s arguments were completed.

At the beginning of the hearing the court martial made the traditional announcement ‘Oyez! Oyez! Oyez!’ (i.e. listen!) on which everyone including Trump stood up. However, despite this historic occasion, Chief Justice John Roberts did not make any specific mention of Trump’s presence.

After returning to the White House, Trump wrote on social media, “We are the only country in the world stupid enough to allow ‘birthright’ citizenship.”
