A case of love marriage turned into a bloody incident in Loni area of Ghaziabad. Just a year after the love marriage between a Hindu youth and a Muslim girl, the youth was murdered, in which the in-laws have been accused of beating him to death. Police have registered an FIR and arrested two accused, while the search for others is ongoing. A jam was also imposed in the area by the family members angry over the incident. However, the police resolved the issue and cleared the traffic jam.
According to the FIR registered in Tilamod police station, complainant Amit Kumar told that his younger brother Nitin Kumar had a love marriage with Muskaan, a girl from a different community, about a year ago. The girl’s side was angry about this relationship from the beginning and due to this there was tension between the two families.
‘Death trap’ laid under the pretext of agreement
According to family members, there was an altercation between Nitin and his wife recently, after which the wife went to her maternal home. On the evening of March 30, Nitin was called to Banthala area by a call from his in-laws to try to reconcile the two.
It is alleged that on the pretext of conversation, Nitin was taken in the car and taken ahead. Feeling suspicious on the way, when they got down from the car and started walking, another car came and stopped from behind. According to the FIR, Muskaan’s father Mehruddin and uncle Asif Ali, along with four unknown people who got down from the car, surrounded Nitin.

The complaint states that the accused caught hold of Nitin and said, “Let’s end his game today.” After this, he was brutally beaten. It is alleged that he was strangulated to death, while the complainant somehow escaped from the spot after saving his life.
According to the same police, after receiving information that a young man was lying unconscious near Bhanera Pulia last night, the police reached the spot and sent him to the hospital. Later, doctors declared him dead at GTB Hospital.
Police have registered a case in the matter on the complaint of family members. Mehruddin and Asif Ali have been named in the FIR, while four other unidentified accused are also included.

Angered by the incident, the family members blocked the Loni-Bhopura road by placing the dead body near Banthala flyover. The family members demanded immediate arrest of all the accused and strict action. The police officers who reached the spot explained and controlled the situation and assured action, after which the jam was opened.
There was a long queue of vehicles on the road due to the jam that lasted for about half an hour. After the dead body was removed, traffic became normal in about an hour.
