Dubai, UAE News Live: Tensions continue to run high across the Gulf as the West Asia conflict, involving Iran, the United States and Israel, has been ongoing for a month, with fresh attacks, interceptions, and warnings from global organisations intensifying concerns about regional stability. Saudi Arabia’s Defence Ministry on Monday said its forces intercepted five ballistic missiles aimed at the kingdom’s Eastern Province.
Earlier on Sunday, the UAE Ministry of Defence said its defence systems intercepted incoming missiles and drones, adding that the loud explosions heard in several areas were caused by mid-air interceptions.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military reported striking a heavy water complex in Arak and the Ardakan yellowcake production facility in Yazd province. According to Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation, the strikes caused no casualties and posed no risk of contamination.

Stepping up its attacks, Iran launched multiple waves of ballistic missiles toward Israel. One man was killed in Tel Aviv and two others were injured in the attacks.
Top US economist Jeffrey Sachs has warned that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) risks severe consequences if it deepens its involvement in the ongoing regional conflict, arguing that the country’s major cities are ill-prepared for war and could become prime targets.
In a separate incident, an Indian national was among two people who were killed after a ballistic missile was intercepted over Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
At the United Nations, several Gulf countries raised concerns over Iranian strikes targeting energy infrastructure and civilian areas. Kuwait’s ambassador, Naser Abdullah H M Alhayen, warned that such attacks pose an “existential threat” to regional and global security and violate national sovereignty as well as international law.
Since the West Asia war erupted at the end of February, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries have been regularly targeted by Iranian missile and drone strikes in retaliation for the US-Israeli campaign.
International crude oil prices climbed more than 3% on Monday as tensions in West Asia escalated, with Yemen’s Houthi militants opening a new front through missile and drone strikes on Israel.
