During a Ram Navami procession in Hazaribag, a 40 year old man was hacked to death. Police suspect old enmity.

A 40-year-old man was hacked to death during a Ram Navami procession in Jharkhand’s Hazaribag district, police said on Saturday, sending shockwaves through the local community.
The incident took place on Friday night in Gadokhar village, under the Pelawal outpost limits, when an altercation broke out during the religious procession. According to Hazaribag Sadar SDPO Amit Anand, two men allegedly attacked the victim with sharp-edged weapons following the dispute.
The deceased has been identified as Rama Saw.
Police have launched an investigation into the killing. “It seems that the incident happened due to old enmity. Two suspects have been identified, but they are now on the run. Raids are being conducted to arrest them,” SDPO Anand said.
The body has been sent to the district headquarters hospital for post-mortem examination, he added.
6 Injured In Dhanbad Due To Stone Pelting During Ram Navami
In another incident reported on Ram Navami in Jharkhand, around six people got injured in a stone pelting incident at Bhikraipur in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district on Friday evening. As per the police the incident took place during procession.
All the injured persons were discharged from hospital after treatment.
“It was a minor incident of stone pelting among teenagers of two communities during the procession. Police intervened and the situation was brought under control soon. Everything is normal in the area at the moment,” SSP Prabhat Kumar was quoted as saying by PTI
Dhanbad City SP Ritvik Shrivastav said normalcy was restored within half-an-hour.
