UPTET 2026 Registration: The online application process for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 has started today, Friday, March 27, 2026. This year, the exam is being conducted after nearly five years, and several new rules and regulations have been introduced to prevent any irregularities.

The last date to apply for UPTET 2026 is April 26, 2026. Candidates can register, fill their applications, and submit fees up to this date. The last date for application correction and fee reconciliation is May 1, 2026. The exam will be conducted between July 2 and July 4, 2026.

UPTET 2026: Where To Apply?

Candidates can apply only through the official Uttar Pradesh Education Services Selection Commission website at upessc.up.gov.in. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted.

This time, several new rules have been implemented to increase transparency in the examination. Most notably, candidates must declare in the application form whether they have a twin brother or sister. If yes, they must provide complete details such as the twin’s name, gender, identity card details, and whether the twin is also appearing in the same examination.

Additionally, it is now mandatory for all candidates to upload a live photograph during the application process. This step aims to reduce the chances of using a fake photo or having someone else appear in the exam.

Live Photos and QR Codes

To upload a live photo, candidates can take a selfie directly using their mobile or laptop camera. They can also upload photos using a QR code. Live photos can be easily uploaded by scanning the QR code displayed on the screen with a mobile phone.

Changes in Reservation and Passing Marks

For the first time, candidates from the EWS category will receive reservation benefits in UPTET. To qualify, general category candidates must score at least 60%, that is, 90 out of 150 marks. For OBC, SC, ST, and EWS categories, the minimum qualifying score is 55%, that is, 82 marks.

Documents Required for Application

Candidates must keep the following important documents ready while applying for UPTET 2026: Aadhaar card, 10th and 12th mark sheets, graduation mark sheets, training certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), photograph, signature, and an identity card.
