Amritsar: Amritsar resident Balwinder Singh, who tied turban to superstar Ranveer Singh and Akshay Khanna in Bollywood films Dhurandhar 1 and Dhurandhar 2, has made a special identity these days. Balwinder Singh says that it is a matter of pride for him to get a chance to work with big Bollywood actors and famous director Aditya Dhar.
Balwinder Singh told that he has been working professionally in tying turbans to people for the last two years. Even before this, he had tied turban to the actors in a film named ‘Callari’, but working in Dhurandhar 2 was the biggest and challenging experience for him so far.
He told that donning the Baloch turban in Dhurandhar 2 was not easy. Till now he had tied turbans to people of every Indian culture, but the style of Baloch turban was completely different. For this he had to rehearse for several days. First he tied the Baloch turban to his brother, then practiced on his wife and finally tied the turban himself and sent its picture and video to director Aditya Dhar.
According to Balwinder Singh, when he showed his preparation to the director, the director praised him and said that it was good that you tied the Baloch turban properly, otherwise the turban tier would have had to be called from Baloch i.e. Pakistan.
Balwinder Singh says that after working in Dhurandhar 2, his identity has completely changed. Now people have started recognizing him more by calling him “Dhurandhar wala Sardar” than by his real name. His work is also increasing continuously and he is getting calls from different places.
He said, “It is like a dream for me to work with such big actors of Bollywood. It is a recognition of my skill and I will continue to do my work with full dedication in future also.”
