Antoine Griezmann may be heading to the MLS next season, but his heart will clearly long for and miss Madrid.
The French forward will officially join Orlando City SC in July, signing a long-term deal as a Designated Player.
Shortly after Orlando City SC confirmed their blockbuster signing, the Atletico Madrid icon took to social media to deliver a heartfelt farewell message.
“This Club Is My Home”
Griezmann didn’t hold back in expressing what Atletico means to him.
“It’s not easy to put into words what I feel, because this club is my home and you are my family. It has been an incredible journey, full of unforgettable matches, goals, joy, and a passion that only those of us who feel Atleti can truly understand.”

Crucially, the Frenchman made it clear: this isn’t over just yet.
“But for now, let’s leave the future in the future: because I’m not leaving yet. I still have months left wearing this shirt… to lift that Copa del Rey and to dream of going as far as possible in the Champions League.”
“We still have many opportunities ahead of us to be happy. I want every minute I have left here to be a tribute to this badge.”
“My present will remain red and white until the very last breath of this 2026 season. And my heart will be forever. Aúpa Atleti.”
A Legendary Atletico Legacy
Since arriving from Real Sociedad in 2014, Griezmann has become Atletico’s all-time leading scorer with 211 goals, surpassing Luis Aragones. His 488 appearances rank him among the club’s most capped players.
Trophies followed too, including the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup in 2018, alongside the Spanish Super Cup in 2014.
