After the title match, prizes were showered on winner India and runner-up New Zealand. The Indian team that won the T20 World Cup 2026 received $3 million (approximately Rs 27.50 crore). The Kiwi team that lost the final received prize money of $1.6 million (approximately Rs 14.67 crore).

Whereas England and South Africa, the losing teams in the semi-finals, received $0.79 million (approximately Rs 7.24 crore). At the same time, the teams ranked 5th to 12th were given $0.38 million (approximately Rs 3.48 crore) and the teams ranked 13th to 20th were given $0.25 million (approximately Rs 2.29 crore).

ICC distributed record breaking money
This time the International Cricket Council (ICC) has kept a total prize pool of $ 13.5 million (about Rs 123.77 crore), which is about 20 percent more than the 2024 T20 World Cup. A total of $11.25 million was distributed in the last World Cup. Then the winning Indian team got prize money of 2.45 million dollars and the losing team South Africa got 1.28 million dollars.

T20 World Cup has now become not only a cricket thrill but also a big platform financially for the teams.
