Friday’s event marks the first in a series of Post Budget Webinars planned by the government following the Union Budget 2026-27.

These consultations are usually held after the Budget to discuss implementation challenges and to get feedback from sectors that will be affected by the policy changes. Officials say the discussions help ministries fine-tune their approach before rolling out schemes and reforms.

Participants are expected to include government officials, bankers, industry representatives and market experts.

Banking and financial sector reforms

Banking and financial sector reforms will play a major role in the broader effort to strengthen the country’s financial architecture. The main objective: increase credit flow and improve the efficiency of the system. Participants will discuss real-world regulatory challenges and exchange ideas on closing financing gaps in various sectors.

They will also discuss ways to strengthen financial institutions and improve access to finance.

Capital markets and tax reforms

The webinar will also look at ways to deepen capital markets and improve participation by investors.

Market experts are expected to discuss measures that could make financing easier for businesses through market instruments.

Tax reforms linked to ease of living will also be part of the conversation. The government has indicated that simplifying tax rules and reducing compliance burden remain priorities.

Turning Budget announcements into action

The Post Budget Webinar series is meant to ensure that Budget announcements do not remain on paper and are implemented effectively.
