A case of fraud has been registered against filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and his daughter Krishna Bhatt at Versova Police Station in Mumbai. Pune-based film financier Shivraj Prithviraj Khawde has alleged that the two have defrauded him of Rs 13.5 crore.

According to a Times of India report, the complaint said that Vikram Bhatt persuaded Khawde to invest in his upcoming film projects in the year 2021 and promised quick returns. They took a total of Rs 13.50 crore, but even after the stipulated time, neither the money was returned nor any profit was given.

In this case, an FIR has been registered against Vikram Bhatt and Krishna Bhatt at Versova Police Station under section 420 (cheating) of IPC. Since the matter is of 2021, this case has been registered under IPC.

Krishna Bhatt debuted as a director in the year 2023 with the film 1920: Horrors of the Heart. Apart from this, he has also directed web series like Maya 2 and Sanak.

At the same time, considering the seriousness of the matter, its investigation has now been handed over to the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police.

It is noteworthy that recently on December 7, 2025, Vikram Bhatt and his wife Shwetambari were arrested by Rajasthan Police in a separate case of alleged fraud of Rs 30 crore. In that case also, he was accused of financial irregularities related to a business deal.

In this case, Rajasthan Police had arrested Vikram Bhatt and Shwetambari from Mumbai and taken them to Udaipur. After this both were presented in a court in Udaipur. The court sent him to judicial custody after his police remand ended on 16 December 2025.

In January 2026, Rajasthan High Court rejected the bail plea of ​​Vikram Bhatt and the petition to cancel the FIR. At present, Vikram Bhatt and his wife Shwetambari Bhatt (Soni) are in judicial custody in the Central Jail of Udaipur.
