Ward number 199 (G/South) is one of the 227 wards of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), India’s largest municipal corporation. This ward is reserved for General (Female) and has a total population of 60385, of which 8743 belong to Scheduled Caste and 373 to Scheduled Tribe.

The boundary of the ward, as published in the Gazette of the Government of Maharashtra, is as follows: A line starting from the junction of NM Joshi Road and Western Railway lines at Lower Parel Railway Station and running north along the Western Railway lines to its junction with the Central Railway lines at Elphinstone Road Railway Station Foot Over Bridge; then southwards along the Central Railway line up to its junction with Sane Guruji Marg at Chinchpokli Railway Station; then westwards along Sane Guruji Marg up to its junction with Keshavrao Khadye Marg (Clark Road) at Gadge Maharaj Chowk (Jacob Circle); then westwards towards the north of Keshavrao Khadye Marg up to its junction with the Western Railway line; then northwards along the Western Railway line across Jeevraj Ramji Boricha Marg to its junction with the southern compound wall of BDD Chawl at Sitaram Mill Municipal School; then proceeding eastwards along that compound wall up to its junction with NMJoshi Marg in Pragati Industrial Estate; Then northwards on the east side of NMJoshi Marg up to its junction with the Western Railway line……..the starting point. Main locations/colonies/towns in this ward are Arthur Road Jail, Dhobi Ghat, Shanti Nagar, Adarsh ​​Nagar. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) consists of 227 wards in Mumbai city. The last BMC elections were held on 21 February 2017, in which Shiv Sena became the largest party with 84 seats, while Bharatiya Janata Party won 82 seats. The next election is scheduled for 15 January 2026, and counting of votes will take place on 16 January 2026.
