State Bank of India (SBI) has revised its ATM transaction charges, marking its first fee change since February 1, 2025. The bank said the update was needed after an increase in interchange fees, which led to a review of charges for ATM and Automated Deposit cum Withdrawal Machine (ADWM) services.
The revised charges came into effect on December 1, 2025. These changes mainly affect savings and salary account holders when they use ATMs of other banks. Some account types and transactions, however, remain unchanged.
SBI said ATM service charges were last revised in February 2025. After the increase in interchange fees, the bank reassessed its pricing and implemented the new charges from December 1, 2025.
Free Transactions At Non-SBI ATMs Remain The Same
There has been no change in the number of free monthly transactions. SBI savings account holders can still make five free transactions, both financial and non-financial, at ATMs of other banks.
After this limit is crossed, the charge for each cash withdrawal has increased to Rs 23 plus GST, up from Rs 21 plus GST. For non-financial transactions, such as balance checks, the fee is now Rs 11 plus GST, compared to Rs 10 earlier.
Salary Account Users Now Face Limits
For SBI salary package savings accounts, the number of free ATM transactions at non-SBI ATMs is now capped at 10 per month across all locations. Earlier, these accounts allowed unlimited free transactions.
Once the free limit is used up, users are charged Rs 23 plus GST for cash withdrawals and Rs 11 plus GST for non-financial transactions.
No Change For Basic Savings Accounts
SBI has not made any changes to charges for Basic Saving Bank Deposit (BSBD) accounts. Customers with these accounts will continue to enjoy the same benefits as before.
SBI ATM Users Unaffected
There is no change in ATM charges for SBI debit card holders when they use SBI ATMs. These transactions remain free as per existing rules.
Cardless Withdrawals Stay Free
Cardless cash withdrawal transactions at SBI ATMs continue to be unlimited and free, with no changes announced so far.
