Pakistan has deployed anti-drone systems near the Line of Control (LoC) in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). According to reports, new Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) have been deployed in Rawalakot, Kotli and Bhimber sectors.

Pakistani Army fears that India may again take a step like Operation Sindoor. According to reports, Pakistan has deployed more than 30 special anti-drone units on the LoC.

These deployments have been made by Murree’s 12th Infantry Division and 23rd Infantry Division, which man the brigades of the Kotli-Bhimber area. Its purpose is to strengthen air surveillance and electronic warfare capabilities near the LoC.

Which systems were installed?

The Spider anti-drone system detects drones through radio frequency and can identify small drones and loitering munitions up to about 10 kilometers. It is available in both portable and vehicle-mounted forms.

2. Sufra Jamming Gun It is a shoulder-fired weapon whose range is about 1.5 kilometers. This disrupts the drone’s control, video and GPS links. It can deactivate multiple kamikaze drones simultaneously.

Air defense weapons also deployed

Along with entry drone systems, Pakistan has also deployed air defense weapons. These include the Oerlikon GDF 35 mm double barrel anti-aircraft gun with radar support and the Anza Mk-II and Mk-III MANPADS, which can engage low-flying targets.

According to reports, these deployments show Pakistan’s uneasiness over India’s increasing military activity on the western border. Meanwhile, Pakistan is also in talks to buy new drones and air defense systems from Türkiye and China.
