Patna Schools Change Timing From 9 AM To 4.30 PM Till December 27 Amid Cold Wave

Patna schools to operate from 9 am to 4.30 pm from December 19 to 25 amid cold wave, however, board and pre-board classes will have to follow the usual schedule.

As a cold wave grips northern India and temperatures drop, the Patna District Magistrate issued orders on Friday, mandating that all schools remain open only from 9 am to 4.30 pm. However, the notification specified that classes with board and pre-board examinations will continue following their usual schedules, reported ANI. These orders will be effective from December 19 to 25, the notification stated.

Meanwhile, all government, aided and private schools up to Class 8 in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district will remain closed for three days till December 20 due to severe cold and dense fog. The decision was taken as cold wave conditions and persistent fog have been disrupting normal life in Bareilly and nearby areas for the past several days.

The cold weather has impacted several regions of North India, including Bihar’s neighbouring Uttar Pradesh and the national capital. Residents have reported low visibility, difficulties with everyday tasks, and extreme weather conditions. Delhi woke up to a thick blanket of fog, with poor air quality worsening the already severe situation. On Wednesday, Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa announced a 50 per cent work-from-home policy to provide relief amid worsening smog.

Schools from nursery to grade 5 are completely closed in Delhiwith no classes for these grades. Classes 6 to 11 is being conducted in a hybrid mode, both online and offline. Students in grades 10 and 12 must attend physical classes in school due to the upcoming board exams. This measure ensures that studies are not disrupted while protecting young children from the hazardous air

On Thursday, parts of Uttar Pradesh experienced extreme cold. In Kanpur, significant train delays were reported. Cities such as Prayagraj and Gorakhpur remained shrouded in fog, reducing visibility. People gathered around bonfires to stay warm. In Agra, the thick fog completely obscured the Taj Mahal.In Moradabad, people urged for measures to address the extreme weather conditions. As winter sets in, various states across northern India are implementing measures to increase efficiency and ease hardships.
