Monsoon is active in the country. Heavy rains are continuing in many areas while drizzle is continuing in some areas. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), there is an alert of heavy rain in 20 states on Tuesday (August 13).

Here, 8 people died in rain-related incidents in Rajasthan on Monday. There are flood-like conditions in two districts. 22 people died due to rain here in two days. There is an alert of heavy rain in Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Bharatpur, Dausa and Karauli.

The situation in Rajasthan has worsened due to continuous heavy rains for the last 3 days. There is a flood like situation in 7 districts (Dholpur, Karauli, Bharatpur, Dausa, Tonk, Sawai Madhopur) including Jaipur. The Jaipur-Kota National Highway in Tonk was flooded with water up to 2 feet. Due to heavy rains, a holiday has been declared on Tuesday 13th August in the schools of Jaipur, Karauli, Dholpur and Dausa.

Jaipur recorded more than 4.50 inches (118 mm) of rain in the last 24 hours. The Meteorological Department said that a cyclonic circulation has been formed over north-eastern Rajasthan for two-three days. It is likely to remain for the next two days.

At the same time, monsoon is in a very strong position in Bihar. The situation will remain the same for the next 7 days. 5 major rivers of Bihar including Ganga-Gandak are flowing above the danger mark. On the initiative of the state government, all 109 gates of Farakka Barrage have been opened. 10.50 lakh cusecs of water is being discharged from the barrage.

Here, the period of heavy rains has stopped in Madhya Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon trough is currently passing from Ganganagar to Delhi and Sidhi. A cyclonic circulation is active over the North-East. Another monsoon trough is also passing through MP. After their activity increases, the period of heavy rains will begin. There is no alert of heavy rain in the state till August 16.

Due to heavy rains in Tonk, Rajasthan, many places on Jaipur-Kota National Highway-52 were flooded with water up to 2 feet.

In Hindupura village of Sawai Madhopur, the earthen dam’s embankment broke due to the strong current. Due to this, the water reached the surrounding areas with a strong current.

Chaubey Pada market of Hindaun City in Karauli, Rajasthan is flooded with water up to three feet. Water has entered inside the shops as well.

The level of river Ganga in Patna has increased from 50.45 cm to 50.56 cm.
