Delhi High Court has issued an interim order in favor of actor Ajay Devgan. The court has said that no person or organization can use their photographs, voice or things related to their identity without their approval.
The court has also made it clear that their image or personality cannot be misused through AI and deepfake technology. Besides, dissemination of any kind of obscene or objectionable content has also been banned.
This matter came to light when some people were accused of using Ajay Devgan’s pictures and identity for commercial gain. It also included some content which is inappropriate.
According to Livelaw, this case was heard by Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora. Advocate Praveen Anand, appearing for the actor, said that many people were selling caps, stickers and posters with Ajay’s fake identity. In these, private images, not related to the film, were being misused.

Court said complaint on social media platform is necessary
During the hearing, the court asked whether Ajay had complained against such content on platforms like YouTube or Google.
The court said that at present Devgan is being given relief. However, in future, in such cases, either party will have to first file a complaint on the social media platform.
The judge also said that objectionable or obscene content will be ordered to be removed immediately, but mere photographs or general content cannot be removed without hearing the other party.
Recently, in similar cases, the court has also given orders in favor of Nagarjuna, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Karan Johar.
