2 days after Dharmendra’s death, Hema Malini has shared many emotional posts for him. He has said that Dharmendra was everything to him and the void created by his departure will last throughout his life.
Hema Malini shared a picture with Dharmendra and wrote emotionally –

Dharma ji. He was many things to me, a loving husband, a doting father to our two daughters Isha and Ahana, a friend, philosopher, guide, poet, my ‘go-to’ person in all times of need. To be honest, they were everything to me. He was always with me through good and bad times. He had won the hearts of every member of my family with his easygoing, friendly nature, always showering affection and affection on everyone.


He further wrote, ‘As a public figure, his talent, his humble nature despite his popularity, and his universal appeal, all made him a unique and incomparable icon, the likes of which are rarely seen in any other legend. His fame and achievements will always be remembered in the film industry. My personal loss is beyond words, and the void left will remain with me for the rest of my life. After years of traveling together, I will now relive those special moments again and again with the help of countless memories.

Dharmendra and Hema first met in 1965 at the premiere of filmmaker Khwaja Ahmed Abbas’s film Aasmaan Mahal. Hema had told in Simi Garewal’s show that when she saw Dharmendra for the first time, she thought – “I have never seen such a handsome man before.”
So what if the boy was handsome? Was already married. There was just a thought, it came to my heart and went away. Hema’s family members were quite strict. Dharmendra died on 24 November at the age of 89.
Dharmendra was struggling with age related problems for a long time. He was first admitted to the hospital on 31 October, after which he was admitted again on 10 November. He was kept on ventilator in Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai for 2 days, after which he was discharged on 12 November.
Dharmendra’s family had said that he is recovering and is under the supervision of doctors. After this, the news of his demise suddenly came out on the afternoon of 24th November. Dharmendra’s last rites were performed in a hurry, due to which fans were not able to see him last.
